QuixWP Renewal Scheduler is now available to purchase directly from QuixWP. The plugin extends the official WooCommerce Subscriptions extension with calendar-based renewal dates, so recurring payments can follow the dates a business actually operates on instead of only following each customer’s signup anniversary.
This release grew out of a practical subscription-store problem: many memberships, seasonal services, subscription boxes, and operational billing cycles need groups of customers to renew together. Renewal Scheduler adds that calendar layer without replacing WooCommerce Subscriptions or introducing a separate billing engine.
Why we built a calendar-based renewal scheduler
WooCommerce Subscriptions is designed to handle recurring products, renewal orders, payment methods, statuses, retries, and the rest of the subscription lifecycle. But some businesses do not want every customer to renew on a date derived from when that customer originally subscribed.
A seasonal subscription may need renewals on March 1 and September 1. A membership programme may bill everyone on the same dates each year. Another store may need a one-off calendar date in addition to annual renewal dates. Renewal Scheduler is built for those cases.
- Create reusable annual renewal dates.
- Add exact one-off dates when a schedule needs them.
- Assign one schedule to multiple subscription products or individual variations.
- Choose the renewal hour and minute in the store timezone.
What Renewal Scheduler changes — and what it leaves to WooCommerce
Renewal Scheduler changes how eligible subscription dates are calculated and maintained. WooCommerce Subscriptions remains responsible for creating renewal orders, using the saved payment method, handling the payment result, and managing subscription status.
You can also choose how the first recurring payment behaves. Immediate billing charges the customer when they sign up and then schedules the next recurring payment on the next calendar date. Deferred billing waits until the next scheduled date for the first recurring amount.
Existing subscription stores can adopt a schedule deliberately
The plugin is not limited to new subscriptions. Existing active subscriptions can be identified from the products assigned to a QuixWP schedule, and the store owner decides when their dates should change.
That distinction is important on a live store. You can preserve current next-payment dates while adopting subscriptions, or deliberately realign eligible subscriptions onto the shared calendar. The migration workflow is designed so changing the scheduling system and changing customer payment dates are not treated as the same operation.
There is also migration support for WooCommerce Subscriptions Schedule by Shop Plugins, while native WooCommerce Subscriptions Billing Date Alignment requires creating a calendar and adopting eligible subscriptions manually.
A live store with around 750 subscriptions
Before release, Renewal Scheduler was used on a live WooCommerce store managing approximately 750 subscriptions. On the previous setup, the renewal run was spread across roughly two days.
With QuixWP Renewal Scheduler handling the calendar, all of those renewals were triggered within two hours for that store. That result is about scheduling and dispatch: payment gateways, Action Scheduler, cron, store load, and gateway response time still influence when individual payment processing completes.
This was useful validation for the part of the plugin that matters most on established stores: hundreds of existing subscriptions can share a calendar without requiring an administrator to edit renewal dates one by one.
Tools for checking the schedule before and after launch
Changing recurring billing dates is not something we wanted to make opaque. Renewal Scheduler includes tools for previewing what will happen and for checking the resulting subscription state afterwards.
The schedule simulator can test signup scenarios and upcoming renewal occurrences before the schedule is used. The Renewal Monitor provides a paginated operational view of assigned active subscriptions, including effective renewal timing, due or overdue state, payment-action integrity, and the latest renewal result.
- Preview upcoming calendar occurrences before saving a schedule.
- Monitor assigned subscriptions from one operational screen.
- Surface missing, mismatched, or duplicate payment-action states.
- Move an individual subscription up to 30 local calendar days earlier without changing the shared calendar.
- Propagate schedule changes in controlled background batches.
Compatibility and requirements
The current release requires WordPress 6.0 or newer, WooCommerce 7.0 or newer, WooCommerce Subscriptions 7.8.2 or newer, and PHP 7.4 or newer. It is designed to work with HPOS and uses WooCommerce and Action Scheduler infrastructure rather than creating a separate recurring-payment system.
As with any change to renewal dates on an established subscription store, we recommend rehearsing migration and realignment on staging first, especially when hundreds of active subscriptions are involved.
Pricing and availability
QuixWP Renewal Scheduler is available now directly from QuixWP through Freemius. The single-site license is $89.99 per year and the five-site license is $179.99 per year. Both licenses include the same plugin features; the difference is the number of sites that can be activated.
The official WooCommerce Subscriptions extension is required separately. Downloads and license management are handled through Freemius, while setup documentation and QuixWP support are available from the product site.
